DayZero
TL;DR
Day Zero is building a lightweight, modern, AI-automated ERP system focused on e-commerce and CPG brands, starting with a complete QuickBooks replacement that automates accrual accounting for online sellers.
What's the backstory?
Co-founders Julia Tolmachyov and Michelle Liao met as undergraduate business students at Wharton, where both studied finance and accounting
After graduation, Julia worked for almost six years as a public and private market investor at a large asset manager, primarily focusing on software and retail companies
Michelle worked in finance roles before joining an e-commerce aggregator that acquired Shopify brands with $1-10M in revenue, where she led M&A due diligence and finance operations
While at the aggregator, Michelle identified significant problems with existing accounting tools and approaches for e-commerce brands
The two reconnected when Michelle reached out to Julia about the market opportunity they saw, leading them team up and build Day Zero
