TLDR:

PorterLogic is a procurement automation platform for mid-market companies that straps onto the ERP and helps automate inventory replenishment and purchase order placement.

What's the backstory?

  • PorterLogic was started by Anya Skomorokhova and Jonathan Porter. Anya’s background is in building and launching B2B SaaS platforms and Jonathan’s is in developing software and implementing warehouse management systems.

  • Jonathan spent years observing how companies would invest millions on systems and services (like WMSs and ERPs) that would take years to implement, only to be outdated by the time they went live. He saw that implementation could never keep up with the pace of business' evolving needs.

  • At first they started building a WMS. But as they talked to customers, they discovered customers struggled with manual procurement processes — in particular, because the existing software tools were too rigid.

  • PorterLogic was born to systemize purchasing processes and enable rapid, flexible personalization for each nuanced operation.

Who do they work with?

  • PorterLogic works with mid-market manufacturers and distributors who have 200+ SKUs, multiple inventory turns per year, $75M+ in annual revenue.

What problems do they solve?

  • Reducing inventory costs, write-offs, and time waste from manual replenishment and procurement processes

  • E.g.: Consolidating multiple reports, copying data between spreadsheets, and manually calculating reorder quantities.)

How does it work?

  • Porter Logic integrates with ERPs like NetSuite to automatically pull procurement, sales, and inventory data daily.

  • Then it calculates suggested order quantities based on a multitude of parameters like lead times, minimum order quantities, and expiration dates.

  • It streamlines the purchase order placement process down to four clicks.

  • There is a configurable backend that can connect to any ERP or data source via API, database, or flat files, and includes a drag-and-drop interface that enables customers to personalize their dashboards and user interfaces.

What makes it different?

  • Fully configurable system that can plug into any ERP and maintain functionality even if customers switch ERPs.

  • Low-code interface allowing customers to personalize their own user screens and data views, and build new ones.

  • Systemizes any unique parameters in your replenishment calculations or purchasing processes.
